Newsletter: Christmas at Palms Row

Christmas 2021

Christmas 2021 has been one of fun and friendship at Palms Row, despite the challenges presented by the new Omicron variant. Our Christmas parties saw residents enjoying festive food and drink and making the most of socialising together in our lounges, as well as partaking in our traditional fish and chip lunch on Christmas Eve. Our karaoke machine was a big hit at Northfield, with staff and residents taking it in turns to sing along to their favourite tunes.

On Christmas Day, Father and Mother Christmas dished out presents all round and residents joined together for a lovely meal of prawns or soup, roast turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding. Place-settings made by the residents added to the festive atmosphere and everyone enjoyed chatting, reminiscing and even singing over a glass or two of Sherry. Those residents who weren’t able to join us in the lounge were supported to join in with our Christmas activities in their rooms, as well as receiving their gifts from Santa.

Our seasonal raffles raised nearly £250 for the residents’ association, which we were pleased with given the current restrictions on visitors. We hope to put some of this towards a big television in our newly redecorated lounge at Westbourne.

We’re all looking forward to bringing in the New Year tomorrow in the hope that next year will see more of a return to normality, but no matter what 2022 brings, our team remains committed to providing a warm and welcoming home for our Palms Row family.

Happy New Year to all.
