Newsletter: Deck The Halls
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Northfield and Westbourne. Last week, our teams were working hard to get the homes decorated ready for the festive season. The trees are up and lights are twinkling - the perfect backdrop for a whole host of Christmas activities which are taking place over the next couple of weeks.
Westbourne has beautiful red, silver and gold-themed rooms, while Northfield has made a log-tree from locally-collected branches where residents will be able to hang some home-made decorations in the run up to the big day.
Elf Day
On Friday 3rd December, we took part in Elf Day, supporting the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness of people affected by dementia. Our residents had fun making elf hats and the team couldn’t resist the opportunity to get dressed up! Staff members have donated some lovely presents for a raffle, so please let us know if you would like to buy a ticket.
Festive Fun
We were delighted to be joined by pupils from Walkley Primary School this week, who entertained us with some beautiful carol singing. The children also surprised our residents with some home made Christmas cards, which was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated.
On Monday, we channeled our inner Mary Berry, making and decorating Christmas biscuits and fun was had by all when the elf costumes came back out for a Christmas-themed bingo afternoon.
