Newsletter: St David's Day

We’ve had lots of fun this week with our homes taking advantage of the opportunity to celebrate both St. David’s Day and Shrove Tuesday on 1st March.

At Westbourne House, residents enjoyed a Welsh Feast Day, with Welsh crempog with marmalade or jam for breakfast, chicken and leek pie followed by amber pudding for dinner and traditional pancakes for tea. All washed down with Welsh beer and red dragon cocktails. Our chef Linda did us proud and we all spent a lovely day together.

Support Social Care Heroes

On Thursday, Northfield played host to our friends from Support Social Care Heroes who visited for some socially-distanced filming - more about that coming soon!

We nominated Westbourne’s wonderful housekeeper Vanessa Blunkett and bubbly nurse Carmen Alvarez-Julia from Northfield for February’s Social Care Hero Awards on Monday. Although neither were lucky enough to be picked as overall winner, they are both heroes to us and we are so grateful for everything they do. Thank you, both!

International Women’s Day

On Tuesday 8th March, we’ll be dong a social media takeover to #BreakTheBias about women by celebrating some of the many inspirational female residents and staff living and working with us at Palms Row. Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter to hear their stories and let us know who your inspirational woman is.
