Statement on CQC care homes data

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published data today relating to the number of COVID-19 deaths in care homes in England throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The data covers 10 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 and captures the heartbreaking reality of the impact of the pandemic on vulnerable people in care homes across the country.

Nicola Richards, Director, commented:

Every death in our homes is heartbreaking for the families and loved ones of our residents as well as for our staff, but the COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly awful because of the scale of the devastation it has caused.
We’d like to take the opportunity today to send our heartfelt condolences to each and everyone who lost someone special during this time and particularly the residents in our homes who have faced this horrifying pandemic with incredible stoicism.
I’d also like to personally thank our past and current residents and their families for their support over the last 16 months and our staff who have continued to go over and above what is asked of them to provide excellent and loving care under extremely challenging circumstances.

Please contact us on hr@palmsrow.co.uk if you would like to know more about the latest data or anything else we can help you with.
