After a long, hot summer, autumn has well and truly arrived and we are embracing the changing of the seasons. The knitwear is back out and we have been enjoying working on some autumn crafts for our new display. Our ladies spent an enjoyable morning this week decorating some intricate wooden trees with a range of jewelled flowers and leaves. As ever the conversation and company was as important as the activity.
Throughout September, Macmillan Cancer Support encourages people to host a coffee morning and raise money for people living with cancer. This is a cause which is close to lots of our hearts and we were delighted to host an event at Westbourne House earlier this month. It was a lovely morning with lots of delicious cakes, raising over £80 for the charity.
This week, we have nominated two fantastic staff members for the Social Care Hero Awards:
Dawn Haigh is a highly respected member of our domestic team at Northfield. A great multi-tasker, Dawn's work ethic and timekeeping are immeasurable. She is always kind and helpful to our residents and never compromises her standards.
Healthcare Assistant, Lucia Brown from Westbourne House always goes above and beyond to ensure all residents feel safe, happy and comfortable. She puts 100% into everything she does.
Thank you Lucia and Dawn - you're both brilliant and we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the awards.
